blondie asked:
Does anyone know of any really nice restaurants within walking distance of the Merrion Hotel in Dublin – I know there is a super expensive one next door but is there any others that you would recommend?

there is a really nice one called Fire at that end of town. Merrion Square is within walking distance of the whole of the city centre as long as you dont mind walking, you could go to Temple Bar, theres a nice restaurant called Mexico to Rome that i go to ALOT! there is also, Mona Lisa which is by Trinity College, its at the end of D’olier Street which is also nice! there are so many restaurants its hard to chose which to tell you about!

some places in dublin are not as expensive as they may appear such as cafe en seine on dawson street…i’ve had dinner there about 10 times and the food has always been good for the price…
my favourite place in dublin is a little italian place called ‘Steps of Rome’
Its in Chatham Street, just off Grafton Street…the food is quality and its cheap

Del Pino, corner of Dame Street and Parliament Street, best Italian in town. The house wine is Faustino V, Great value, no bullshit.

Hi, I hope you enjoy your stay in Dublin.
The Merrion hotel is ideally located for eating out in Dublin, just walk towards Stephen’s Green and around the area between Grafton Street and George’s Street there are many many good eateries. Nearer the hotel Bang Cafe, though expensive, is amazing. Good value can be had if you eat out earlier and opt for early bird menus in most places, even the high end of the market.

Hi, stay away from FIRE, its a cattle mart. its so large and always full of big groups. There is a nice really nice one further along from the merrion called Pearl (the michelin stared one is Guildbaud’s and its not worth the money). A bit further you have Ely, great wines. there is also Marco Perrire Whites place on Dawson’s street, its good value. The best meal i have had in years was about 2 weeks ago at The Tea Room in the Clarence hotel in temple bar. 3 courses for E26.00 and it was fab.
