I’d say its about 150miles from dublin to cork.. give or take .. yes you’d like the festival.. I’d also point out that kenmare in kerry is worth seeing!

We visited Ireland last year – and basically drove around to as many places as we could in two weeks. The Aran Islands are a MUST see, as is the ring of Kerry and the Cliffs of Moher. The Dingle peninsula was also a great stop. We chose to stay in small out of the way places so that we could experience a little more culture. Renting a car was great, but it is not for the faint of heart, the roads are very narrow in some areas!! My advice to you would be to make a list of the places you absoulutely have to see, buy a good, detailed map of Ireland and map out your route. That’s what we did and it worked out great. Hope this helps!

Dublin to Cork is 159 miles and takes approx 3 to 4 hours.
To give some perspective you can drive the length of Ireland in 8 hours a distance of 379 miles.
During an 8 day visit you will be able to cover and experience most of Ireland. Don’t forget the north!

OK get out a map:
Day 1: Dublin to Galway could go via New Grange, out of your way a bit but well worth it. This trip is easily done in 1 day.
Day 2: Galway Oughterard Recess Leenane Clifden Galway. Make sure to stop at Kylemore abbey.
Day 3: Aran Islands get the ferry.
Day 4: Galway Kinvara Ballyvaughan Around Black Head Clifffs of Moher. Stay in Doolin, Lahinch or Ennis.
Day 5: Ennis Limerick (nothing here) Adare (Stay a while) Killarney. good food and pubs and shopping.
Day 6 Ring of Kerry.
Day 7: If the seas are good i highly recommend a trip to The skelligs :. Live in Ireland nearly all my life and this is the best part of it.
Day 8:Killarney Kenmare Travel around the Beara Peninsula

Try the aa route planner. Google it and then type where you are driving from and to. It will tell you every road and turn that you need to make.
Enjoy Ireland and make sure that you check out Virginia, Co. Cavan. It’s beautiful.
