I’m planning a trip for 3 people to Dublin for the summer. Staying about a week. Hotel reviews are all iffy at best. One person will say a hotel was the best they ever stayed at, the other will say they it was a dump and near a methadone clinic (I seriously read that).

We don’t mind sharing a room. We understand that European hotels rooms are smaller than U.S. ones; we just want a clean room in a safe area. If anyone has been (or lives there) and can recommend one, that would be great. Thanks!

I’ve stayed in some sh!tty hotel rooms in the US that were next to all sorts too.
You get what you pay for.
If you go cheap expect cheap.
Why don’t you try the Conrad or the Shelbourne or the Merrion.
Some of Jury’s hotels are nice too.
The Gresham is in the middle of O’ Connell street and is nice and you will be in Dublin City Centre close to all amenities.

I once stayed at Bewleys’s hotel in Dublin which is right next to the RDS in the city centre. I found it to be really great and honestly one of the best hotels that I’ve stayed in. Here’s their website if you’re interested:

Hey, I’m from Dublin and know a lot of hotels but it depends on where you want to stay in Dublin. If you want to stay in the City Centre, try Blooms Hotel in Temple Bar. The Bewleys hotels are very nice actually. Contact the Harcourt Hotel because they actually have apartments in the City Centre which might be better for you to stay in. Probably a bit cheaper and you can buy your food and cook it instead of eating out all the time. There’s also a Jurys Hotel in Christ Church which is near the City Centre too. Best of luck to you! But seriously try the Harcourt Hotel and ask about the apartments. Harcourt Hotel is on Harcourt Street. Here’s the link

I’d advice you to stay around the city centre to avoid having to take taxis which are a rip off

All approved hotels in ireland
if cost is a huge issue there are big rooms at the travelodge.ie, bewleys hotel etc. Makesure you are serviced by a night bus or public transport. Sometimes you can source the site and get a better deal from emailt he hotel directly or are also good.
