Dublin is a safe place to walk in.Just do it during the day time.Grafton street is a popular place.O’Connell street is very popular,Henry st.,Moore st,halfpenny bridge..Your be fine.If your not sure where your going just ask a Dub.

It’s not the safest area to walk after dark, no, but I don’t think anyplace in Dublin is 100% safe.
I would advise taking the LUAS from Dublin city centre to Heuston Station, and then walking from there.

You could always get a bus pass and use the buses if you felt unsafe.

The area where the Hilton Kilmainham is situated is well served by buses but you’re right, if you plan your days/route you can walk anywhere. It is safe where the hotel is. I live around the corner from it.
At night or in the evening, you’d probably be better of on a bus or taxi (taxi won’t be much from city centre)…not because of safety reasons but you’ll probably be glad to rest your feet!
You’ll be safe but as with any city…keep a hold of personal belongings…especially items which could be hanging off you…cameras, phones, wallets in back packs etc.

That’s a safe enough area but it’s quite a hike to the city centre. You can get a bus. Dublin city centre is safe, of course be careful of the usual things – drunken tourists, pickpockets… Just don’t venture deep down the outskirts, there’s nothing to see and you might end up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

dublin is safe if you are not acting stupidly. dont advertise the fact that you are a tourist, i mean by wearing stupid tee shirts with Kiss Me I’m Irish etc. You become a magnet for all sorts of scam merchants. Kilmainham is fairly central, about 15/ 20 minutes stroll down the quays from Kingsbridge to O’Connell bridge, which is the centre of the city. There are very good free guide maps available from the Tourist Board. You are staying close to the Guinness Hop Store which is a must visit, and you will get to sample the Guinness free, made from real River Liffey water. Enjoy you visit.
