I am looking for something fun to do in Dublin with a friend seeing as its the summer holidays. We have shopped in Dublin City a few times before so we are looking for something a bit different. I was at the zoo this week with friends. It was an enjoyable day but its not something I would do again for quite a while, if at all. I was thinking about a picnic in Phoenix Park if the weather is good but can you fill a day with that? Some thing nature orientated would be quite good if the weather is nice. Any ideas?

The park can soak up a few hours if you mosey around and visit ashtown castle. You can watch the deer, squirrels etc. Have a long, lazy picnic lunch.
You can also visit the national museum – collins barracks, a short stroll from parkgate. Or what about the botanic gardens and a tour of glasnevin cemetary?
