Hiyaaa!! Me and my 3 friends are looking to go away to Ireland, probably Dublin or just outside the city for a few nights this time next year…we’re going to be aged around 18, do you think it’ll be a good place to visit, is there lots to see and do, would you recommend anything about it?? thank youu!!

Dublin is absolutely fabulous for anyone aged 0 to 100. It’s turned into quite a bustling city (drivers are insane though – really insane) and virtually anything you are interested in can be found there.

As time and money allows do try to head out of the city and take in some country sights – Blarney Castle, Cliffs of Moher, Donegal – there is plenty to see and experience.

Just look out for the Dublin drivers (and you Dubliners know it is true, too)

I agree with rafferty on drivers, (see my entry on your other post for other details), however Dubs (and the Irish on a whole) are as mad as hatters (I mean that in the nicest way guys!). Its a good place to visit.

Dublin is a fairly lively city! I have to admit I haven’t been to Dublin much just once or twice but it is a great city and some great shops for you and your friends to visit! Temple bar is a great place to go at night time! But a good few of the clubs in Dublin are only for over 21s! There are some fab restaurants and cafes also around the city and very friendly staff! But Dublin is very expensive for everything so make sure you have a good bit of money!

Have a great holiday! ye are guaranteed a great time! ;-)

Yeah its fun but its just like any other city anywhere in the world.

Do not assume Dublin is the be all and end all of Ireland…..

Get out of Dublin and really feel Ireland, go to the neighbouring counties, Kerry, Donegal, Clare…. you will meet people that you will never forget and sit in scruffy little bars with turf fires and random music sessions will just spring up out of nowhere.

Trust me, go and find the tiniest little village pub and you will be hooked.

There is nowhere else in the world that genuine people will want to make you feel like a family member.

I have to recommend Donegal… the villages of Kilcar, Carrick, Teelin and Glencolumbcille are the ultimate in real comfortable atmosphere and beauty.

    Good luck and enjoy Ireland
