Er not really. Ya see the ‘cabs’ here aren’t like the lovely yellow ones you’ve got in the States. They tend to be smelly and the taxi driver usually has a hanging out the window while he tells you how shyte the government is for taking his livelihood and then he does a mean impression of Dick Turpin as he robs you blind when you get to your destination.
The buses aren’t much better. They’re always late, they’re overpriced and they fleece you because if you want to get your change back you have to go into town and jump through hoops to get it back.
What the hell is wrong with the word???

Rent a car. The buses are always late and they don’t go anywhere. Outside of dublin the public transport is crap. Taxis(we don’t call them cabs here) are expensive if you want to go anywhere far. You should rent a car!!

I would rent a car.
The busses are ok, but the service is sparse relative to many countries.
you would also be out of Dublin in 30 minutes and no waiting around.

I have traveled around by bus and it isn’t bad. I wouldn’t rent a car to drive around Dublin or any of the cities. I used to drive in Ireland for years but find it too nerve racking anymore. The highway outside of Galway is a nightmare and driving around during the summer with lots of tourists on the road isn’t a great idea.

public transport in dub is shite i live jus bside bewleys ..lovely hotel btw there is a free shuttle bus from bewleys to the airport and back that runs every 20 mins tho .. enjoy ur stay

Definitely easy to travel by car and if you are travelling around Dublin there is the DART ( Dublin Area Rapid Transport) which are trains and buses that go around Dublin. most areas are easy to get to by bus and train although if you hire a car you can only have it for a certain period of time and have to return it to a certain designated area so i think bus and train is your best bet.
