Did you consider contacting a travel agency? They get paid to answer those types of questions.

Hmmm…don’t know if this is the cheapest way, but you can fly US Airways from Dublin to Philadelphia. You would then have to connect from Philly to Pittsburgh. From Pittsburgh, you can fly to Dubois.

An alternative would be to fly to Philly, take the bus to State College, PA and then catch a bus to Dubois. Bus travel is a pain in the US, though.

First you’ll have to get to PA. Assuming you’ll fly into Philadelphia and assuming you’ll rent a car you would drive north on the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike to Rt. 80 West to the Dubois exit. The drive from Philadelphia will take about 4.5-5 hours.

I would think that if you’re willing to come all the way from Dublin that the least your friend can do is meet you in Philadelphia.
